This Anzac Day I’ll be taking part in the Trek 2 Health Midnight to Dawn Trek.
I first started Trek 2 Health last year. What began as something to improve my fitness turned into much more. The program has given me resilience, perspective, and a level of health I didn’t realise I was slowly losing. It has been a powerful reminder that taking care of ourselves is not just about physical fitness — it’s about staying strong for the people who matter most.
Programs like Trek 2 Health are genuinely changing lives. They provide support, structure, and connection for veterans and frontline workers — helping people stay well and present for their partners, their children, and their mates.
My motivation for supporting this cause is also personal.
My dad served multiple tours in Vietnam. Like many veterans of that era, he came home carrying the weight of that service for the rest of his life. We lost him when he was just 64 years young — far too early.
I often wonder how many more years we might have had with him if support programs like Trek 2 Health had existed back then — programs that understand the reality that the impact of frontline service doesn’t stop when the job ends.
By supporting this fundraiser, you’re helping make sure that veterans and frontline workers today have access to support that previous generations didn’t.
If you’re able to donate, even the price of a coffee or a beer will help someone access a program that could genuinely change — or even save — a life.
Lest we forget. And let’s take care of the living.
